Making the Ordinary, Extraordinary
I know that Pantone came out with their announcement that emerald green is this year`s color. That may even be true. For some people.
Those that base their style sensibilities off of what they are told in big media outlets will be wearing that this year. But. Not all of us follow the glossy pages and copy their style, like sheep led to creative slaughter. Some of us have imagination. And some of us just watch what real people are wearing to get a sense of what is in and what isn`t. I think that`s a much more organic process than simply deciding for yourself what colors others should wear and making an announcement.
So, in honor of the grass roots movement that is ever growing in the fashion world (especially among the new fashion elite: the twenty somethings/ South Koreans) I bring you this year`s actual color: Ruby Red. It`s everywhere! Nobody wants to blend into the ubiquitous sea of black at parties, they want to wear a classy bright red dress. The funeral look is over, people! Rain coats and peacoats, scarves and cat`s eye glasses, classic nails and chandelier earrings are all in red. Homes aren`t exempt, either. To punch up the universal beige and white walls, glass tile backsplashes are all about the red, and our still beloved burlap and canvas covered sofas are getting chic new red throws and pillows. It is a red dawn that we can all live with.
Here are some quick ideas for adding the latest color super star to your life, without breaking the bank.
I actually just bought a dress exactly like this, but it was made just for me by a friend, so you can`t exactly buy it. I think this shade would look best on the fair skinned only.
Remember, I always love to hear from you, no matter what your opinion is!
